## Description

The Sergei Lunchevici National Philharmonic is a concert institution in Chișinău, founded in 1940, on Mitropolit Varlaam Street. It presents classical, folk, light, jazz and sacred music. The philharmonic orchestra has more than 80 professional musicians, and the institution also includes the folk music orchestra Folclor and the Millenium ensemble. The orchestra has toured in Belarus, Italy, Romania, Spain, Russia and Ukraine. In September 2020 a fire damaged the building and part of the main hall's ceiling collapsed.
