## Description

The Church of St. Nicholas stands at 190 Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt boulevard in Chișinău. It was built as the former chapel of the city hospital and finished in 1901 to a design by the architect V. Țîganco. The architecture is eclectic and rooted in Russian church building, and the main façade carries Russian decorative motifs such as the kokoshnik arch. Inside, the plan is a basilica with three naves separated by cast-iron columns, wide spaces and large windows. The building is a monument of national importance, and its main entrance faces the boulevard. It is a working place of worship, so visitors should dress modestly.
