The Monastery of the Holy Great Martyr Theodore Tiron, known as Ciuflea Monastery, is a convent in Chișinău on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt boulevard. The church was built between 1854 and 1858 by the brothers Teodor and Anastasie Ciufli, of Aromanian origin, who are buried by its south wall. The white stone church has nine gilded domes. In 1962 it became an episcopal cathedral, and in 2002 it received monastery status. It is a monument of national architectural importance and belongs to the Metropolis of Moldova; services are held daily. The 1903 Chișinău pogrom began in the square in front of the monastery.
