Vadul lui Vodă Beach

Vadul lui Vodă is a resort on the right bank of the Dniester, about 23 km east of Chișinău. In Soviet times millions of tons of sand were brought in to create a wide artificial beach. Visitors swim in the Dniester, and around the beach there are hotels, campsites, leisure centres and a few small restaurants. Several city buses run from Chișinău. The river level can rise, and the beach has been partly flooded in the past.
