The Alley of Classics, also called the Writers' Alley, is in the Public Garden of Chișinău. It was inaugurated in 1958 with the first 12 busts of classic writers and poets. Today it holds 29 busts of figures from Romania and Moldova, including Mihai Eminescu, Ion Creangă, Lucian Blaga and Nicolae Iorga, and the monument to A. S. Pushkin, erected in 1885, closes the alley. The project was conceived by the sculptor A. Plămădeală. It is a short walk among the busts, suited to anyone who wants to meet local literature.
