Barza Albă is a divin (Moldovan brandy) distillery in Bălți, in northern Moldova, operating since 1944. Visits are by booking: a sommelier explains the history of divin and apple cider, shows how the types, aromas and colours differ, and leads the tasting. Each package lasts an hour and a half, is for a group of at least three, and includes 30 ml samples of spirits of different ages, plus cheese, fresh fruit, nuts, dried fruit, biscuits and cheese pastries. The tour runs in Romanian, Russian, English or French. The headquarters is at 49 Victoriei Street, and the company also runs “Magia Divinului” shops in town.
