Nature
The Golden Hills are a chain of hills near the village of Văleni, about 30 km from the town of Cahul, named for the yellowish-red tint of the clay that surfaces there. The site is a geological and paleontological natural monument protected by the Academy of Sciences. Remains of mastodons, camels, rhinoceroses and other prehistoric animals have been found here. Visitors can stop to admire the formation or climb it, and from the top they see the village of Văleni and Lake Beleu. It suits photography and easy hikes.
A rough sketch. The distance is in a straight line, not by road.
