Petru Rareș's Road

Petru Rareș's Road is a route of about 9 km near Văleni village, Cahul district, through reeds, willows, woods, hills and caves in the “Lunca Joasă a Prutului Inferior” Biosphere Reserve, which includes Lake Beleu. The name comes from a legend in which the young Petru Rareș hunted here and dreamed of Văleni’s Golden Hills bowing to him. The route is walked as a guided tour of about four hours run by the Văleni tourist complex, all year round, by booking. Visitors may see rare steppe plants and, at times, flocks of pelicans. Prices start from 20 EUR per person.
