Eternity Memorial Complex

The Eternity Memorial Complex stands on Pantelimon Halippa street in Chișinău. Its central monument is a pyramid of five stone rifles, 25 m tall, with an eternal flame burning in a five-pointed star at the centre. It was inaugurated on 9 May 1975 in memory of Soviet soldiers killed in the Second Jassy–Kishinev Offensive of the Second World War, and restored in August 2006. An army honour guard changes every hour, and wreath-laying ceremonies take place on national holidays.
