Bălănești Hill, in Nisporeni district, is the highest geodetic point of the Republic of Moldova, at 429 m above sea level. It is a rounded rise rather than a sharp peak, with wide views over villages, forests and fields. Visitors walk up on trails of medium difficulty, take photographs, picnic or watch the sunset. Access is by local roads, by car or bicycle. There are no tourist facilities on site, so bring water and snacks. A visit takes about two and a half hours. The hill is also part of a longer hiking route through central Moldova that can be walked in any season.
A rough sketch. The distance is in a straight line, not by road.
