The “La Castel” landscape reserve lies near the village of Gordinești, Edineț district, above the valley of the Racovăț river. The landscape is made of limestone cliffs and remains of Sarmatian coral reefs, and a formation called the “Dragon's Tooth” gives views over the valley. Eagles, vultures, reptiles and rare plants, some of them in the Red Book, live in the area. Three local legends explain the “castle” that gave the reserve its name. It is visited with a guide, and specialists run educational outings for groups.
