Zabriceni Monastery
Monasteries and churches · Northern Moldova
The Nativity of the Lord Monastery in the village of Zabriceni, Edinet district, was founded in 1999 with the bishop's blessing. It has Greek-inspired architecture, with a main cathedral and two chapels, and a Byzantine-style interior; services follow Mount Athos tradition with Byzantine chant. The monks work a farm of 30 hectares with vegetables, fruit, medicinal and aromatic plants and beehives. Their products, sold as BioCamara, include herbal teas, honey, syrups, preserves, pickles and an ointment, with organic certification. Pilgrims and visitors are welcome; accommodation should be arranged in advance, preferably for a weekend or a major religious holiday.
