Tiganesti Monastery is a men's monastery near the village of Tiganesti in Straseni District, west of Chisinau. The complex has three churches: the summer church of the Dormition (1846), the winter church of Saint Nicholas (1868), and a newer church from 2009 built over a spring. The authorities closed the monastery in 1959 and it later served as a psychiatric hospital; it was re-established in September 1992 and rebuilt.
