Nature
Butești Gorge is a geological and paleontological nature monument southeast of Butești village in Glodeni district. The Camenca river cut the gorge through an organogenic reef that formed 15–20 million years ago; the reef is surrounded on three sides by the Camenca and its tributary, the Camencuța. At the foot of the tallest wall is a cave with several chambers where archaeological traces were found, and the rock holds other unexplored grottoes. The tallest rock resembles an elephant in profile. More than 120 plant species have been recorded. The pages consulted give no opening hours, fees or marked trails.
A rough sketch. The distance is in a straight line, not by road.
